One Love Lacquers Review

*Products provided in exchange for an honest review. Please see my disclosure policy for more info.*

I've got something very exciting to share with you all today! I have a review of the Peter Pan Collection made by One Love Lacquers! Victoria at One Love Lacquers has just started her shop and so far I think she is doing a fabulous job of making polishes. Her polishes are big 3 free and I was so incredibly excited to hear from her. I couldn't wait to share these lovelies with you all!

Her first collection is inspired by Peter Pan so it's only fitting that the names go along with that. I'll be reviewing Captain Hook, Lost Boys and Mermaid Lagoon...though not in that order ;)
How pretty are these!?! My favorites from the get go were Lost Boys and Mermaid Lagoon, but all 3 look so pretty in the bottle.
First up, we have Lost Boys! I could NOT WAIT to try this one out. I think this might be my favorite from the whole collection because I feel like it is so versatile. You can put it over any color and it will look great. It's made up of smaller gold, black and pewter glitters, with some larger copper/bronze hexagon glitters. I think the larger hexagons are what did it for me.

The application of this was fabulous. I thought for sure I'd have to do some fishing to get the glitter out like so many other glitter polishes, but this is packed full of them. Not only that, but the application of the glitter was great. No goopy mess on my fingers and that alone is reason to go for this.

This is only 2-3 coats, depending on how much coverage I was wanting. I like my glitters to be denser on my nails, but I know that one coat of this would look just as amazing and you'd get great coverage.
Next up is Mermaid Lagoon. This is a really pretty clear base with blue/green, navy and pink holo glitters that  are so sparkly and fun. Again, the application was great with this. No fishing for glitter and they went on smooth and not too thick. This is 2 coats, though I know 1 would do the trick as well.

Finally, we have Captain Hook! I ended up really liking this one. Despite an tough name like Captain Hook, I think this is the girliest of these glitters. I'm not quite sure why I feel that way about it, but it's not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination! It feels so lovely and pretty to me and I really loved it!

Captain Hook is, again, a clear base, but with red and black glitters. Victoria has also added some lovely purple/lilac bar glitter to this. I think the purple bar glitter is what makes this one for me. I love it! Consistency amount polishes is an excellent thing, and these all applied incredibly well. The only issue I had with this one was getting those pesky bar glitters out and even that wasn't something I struggled with for long.

One thing I should also note is the ease in which these glitters came off when it came time to remove them. Normally with glitter based polishes I am scraping off the glitter, but with these, there was no struggle at all. Yet another plus!

I also did a little interview with Victoria and got answers to questions I'm always curious about with Indie Polish makers.
1. How did you get started with making polish?
I have always had an obsession with nail polish and painting my nails. When I got an Instagram I started following a lot of nail related people and I was introduced to the world of indie polishes. I started a nail art Instagram and since I have a 10 month old son and I can't work, I thought creating my own polishes would be a great way to combine something I love with a job I could do from home. So far it's been awesome.
2. Where did you come up with your name?
I have always been a fan of Bob Marley's music and of the concept of one love, so of course when I started my nail art account (@onelovenails) I immediately thought of that. When I decided to make polish I thought it would be best to tie them together and I landed on One Love Lacquers.
3. Do you have any major inspirations?
I don't really have any major inspirations. When I see something I really like or that I think is pretty I always try and picture it as a polish.
4. Any exciting new ideas coming up?
I am planning on releasing a new line of polishes some time in April. These will be jellies and opaques not glitter top coats. There will still be glitter of course.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm excited to see what she comes out with in April! You can find One Love Lacquers on Etsy. Full size bottles are $10 and minis are each $5. You can also find One Love Lacquers on Facebook and Instagram

Happy Polishing! :)
