January Nail Art Challenge!

Inspiration can be hard to come by which is why I really love when people come up with awesome nail art challenges that force you to be creative in a way you might not otherwise be. This month, Californails on Instagram put together another nail art challenge that I've decided to partake in as much as possible :)

This challenge is nice because it's not EVERY day. Every day is so exhausting!

For the first challenge, I did a slight alteration of the Ombre look and added some glitter. Purple is one of my favorite colors on my nails and my growing collection finally has enough purples to do an ombre with :) I didn't take very many pictures of this mani, but I'll share the ones I've got!

I started off with just the simple ombre color design, but it still felt too plain for me so I added a stamp to my thumb.

Super simple look that's still fun!

Happy Polishing :)

Leaf Skulls

Happy 2013 Everybody!  Hopefully 13 will be lucky for all of us.

As the cold-wet winter begins to set in I am longing for the golden warmth of a nice fall day, and what better way to capture the mood then with a pair of fallen leaf skull.  Oddly to note is that both our leaf artists are previous simulacra submitters HERE and HERE.

First up is Hope Au from East Sacramento, California, who made this skull one day waiting for her train.

Next we have Daniel Muñoz from Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, Colombia who cleaned up these leaves into art.

Dropping C says:

Thank you both for sharing your original creations with us.  We always appreciate seeing the inspiration that comes about after visiting the site or finding a simulacra in the wild.

Butter LONDON's Rosie Lee with a quick pattern.

Last month Good Morning America had a great deal on Butter LONDON's holiday 3-piece sets (6 polishes for $36!!) so of course I couldn't say no. I mean, come on, those poor polishes were all alone out in the big wide world and I just gave them a home! I'm so excited to work my way through using all of them and to share them all!

For this look, I used Butter LONDON's Rosie Lee paired with Milani's White on the Spot and Zoya's Avery (which I also just got and I love it!). This is a pretty simple mani and once you get the hang of it, you can get it done fairly quickly.

Its it so pretty!?

Happy Polishing :)
